Dental Implant Estimate

How much does the implant post alone cost?

Billed under CDT D6010. Compiled by Kindred Works LLC editorial.

National cost

We publish no price for this yet.

Not because it is free, and not because it is unknowable, but because none of the sources we have read publishes a figure against this specific procedure. Rather than derive one and present it as a published price, this page says what we looked for and what would let us publish. The detail is in the note below.

What is included

The titanium or zirconia post placed into the jawbone, and the surgical visit to place it.

What is not

No abutment, no crown. This is one line of a treatment plan, not a finished tooth.

The billing codes

D6010 surgical placement of implant body, endosteal implant.

Why the number varies

This is the figure a practice is usually quoting when an implant sounds unusually cheap. The restoration on top is a separate charge. NOT PRICED: none of the sources we have read so far publish a figure for the post on its own, separate from the abutment and crown. Rather than split a combined figure and present the result as a published price, we are leaving this blank until a provider fee schedule gives us the line item.

Costs in your state

No state index is published yet. A state gets a page once at least 3 individually sourced figures back it, and none has reached that bar, so the figure above is national. See the methodology for how states get built.

Frequently asked questions

Is the post the only thing I pay for?

No. A finished implant tooth also needs an abutment and a crown, each billed under its own code. Budget for all three unless the treatment plan says otherwise in writing.

Sources referenced above

No sourced figure yet. This page shows no price because we have not found one published, and we would rather show nothing than an estimate we cannot point at.

Medical disclaimer: This site publishes prices, not treatment advice. Nothing here is dental or medical advice, a diagnosis, or a treatment plan, and no figure is a quote. Only a licensed dentist who has examined you can say which procedure you need or what it will cost.
